Ex-Minister among 10 arrested in Kishtwar for vandalism

Jammu, Apr.29 (HS): Ex-legislator and Minister Sunil Sharma among ten people were arrested by police in Jammu and Kashmir’s district Kishtwar for damaging government property.On Saturday, mob vandalized the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Kishtwar and ransacked windowpanes of government vehicles parked outside the complex after a peaceful protest organised by Santan Dharam Sabha turned violent.The police launched crackdown and arrested few youth allegedly indulged in ransacking of government property, later Ex-MLA Sunil Sharma and Sanatan Dharma Sabha President Hans Raj Bhutiyal among nine senior members of BJP and Sanatan Dharam Sabha reached police station for court arrest.“We were protesting against inaction of administration over the recent killings in Kishtwar, but due to a minor incident during the protest, administration is now harassing Sanatan Dharam Sabha people by using pressure tactics. We are offering court arrest voluntarily so that administration don’t harass youth anymore.” Ex-MLA, Sunil Sharma told media before going to be arrested in Kishtwar.Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar (SSP), Shakti Pathak said, “We have arrested 10 people including Sunil Sharma.” Hindusthan Samachar
