Two terrorists gunned down by forces in Kashmir

Jammu, Apr.25 (HS): Security forces have eliminated two terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen in a gunfight in Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday morning.Acting on a credible inputs a cordon and search operation was launched at Bagender Mohalla Bijbehara area in District Anantnag by forces and killed two terrorists.Arms and ammunition were recovered from the site. The police have cautioned citizens not to visit the encounter site until it is sensitized by the bomb disposal team. A search operation is underway.“In the ensuing encounter, two militants were killed and the bodies were retrieved from the site of encounter,” an official told. They are identified as Safder Amin Bhat (25), son ofMuhammad Amin of Zirpara Bijbehara and Burhan Ahmad Ganaie (25) of Malipora Hablish Kulgam. He said the duo was affiliated with Hizb ul Mujahideen militant outfit.Incriminating material including arms and ammunition was recovered from the site of the encounter, he said, adding that the police has registered a case.Meanwhile, Director General of Police in Jammu Kashmir Dilbag Singh told media yesterday that “Recruitment of local youth continues to be low, it is a healthy sign. 272 terrorists were eliminated in the state during 2018 and a large number were apprehended.Hindusthan Samachar
